Ambrose is ten days old and I am really enjoying being a new mommy. It's hard to look at this little baby and to think it was inside my abdomen for ten months. So in celebration of Ambrose being on the outside I'm going to share some things I'm super happy to share on the blog.
THEN
A photo of me at the end of my pregnancy with a very large abdomen and stretch marks. I remember leaning over and feeling a hard mass beautiful baby that was preventing me from touching my toes. This is March 23 at my last stress test and the day before I went into labor :)
NOW
My fellow Bradley mom Laura sent me info on an Austin based company that was doing belly wrap studies. A huge thank you to Laura. I have was having so much pain from the extra skin on my belly pulling on my incision and really wanted a binder, but not sure what to buy. So, I sped volunteered to wear the wrap and had great results. I was 46 inches when I started the study and now am 42 inches around my waist two weeks later. Oh and those stretch marks are now my tiger stripes!
THEN
I was very swollen as you can see above. It's strange that my feet in this photo didn't hurt even though I had stood on them at a Sara Evans concert all evening. However, my hands were painful, but not even close in being swollen. It was sad when I had to put my wedding band size 7 3/4 in the lock box and replace it with a size 9 from walmart. Although the ring two bands I bought for eight bucks were a great investment. Random people told me I had a beautiful ring.
8 dollar ring and my priceless baby boy
THEN
This shoe is a size 10 that had the laces stretched to the max. I was wearing ted hose to help get my shoes to fit. However, the point of this photo is that I wasn't able to tie my shoes the last month of pregnancy. That's right I would wear flip flops and any shoe that didn't require assembly. Jeff my DH had the pleasure of helping me put on my shoes and socks for every shift. At first he thought I was nuts for asking for his help, but then saw that I would lay on the couch in exhaustion just like the opening act from DANCES WITH WOLVES except I didn't have a stick in my mouth I was taking almost 15 minutes to complete the act. One night Jeff didn't make it home in time to help me. So, I put on my flip flops and took my shoes/socks to work where my sweet coworkers helped me.
Sweet Nurses! I ended up buying a size 11 pair of shoes to make it through my last week as I ran out of lace on these shoes.
NOW
My feet look like my feet. I can touch my toes and tie my shoes. I have lost 45 pounds since Ambrose was born and that was ten days ago!
