Today we're officially 42 weeks and I'm starting to realize that natural labor just isn't going to happen. I was really hoping to go into natural labor and be in the comfort of my home as long as possible. It was part of my birth plan to be at home, not be induced, no pain medication and have a vaginal delivery. Jeff and I took Bradley Method classes and I've hired a doula for the birth. However, I'm keeping an open mind. I realize that ultimately all of this is out of my control and I just want a healthy baby & healthy mommy. So, whatever happens I am open and willing to accept whatever happens. Today we'll find out what day we'll be scheduling an induction for next week. At the doctor's office today we had a biophysical profile. It's a combination score between an ultrasound and a non stress test. At the ultrasound, the baby is estimated to be about 8 lbs 10 oz. During the non stress test it showed two contractions! It's the first time its showed real desired contractions and I felt them! I'm still only 0.5 cm dilated, but that's okay. He passed the biophysical profile with flying colors! We found out that had there been any abnormals on the biophysical profile the Dr was going to send me straight to labor and delivery. I'm so glad baby is healthy and mommy is healthy. We're planning on relaxing this weekend and being admitted Sunday night to start our induction. We asked the doctor if we could be induced later and were not given the option as we're two weeks over the due date. That's ok because we're ready for a baby! So Monday I'm going to be a Mommy!
